Introducing the "Framework for Instructional Planning"
Introducing the 9 Categories of Best Practice: the "Framework for Instructional Planning". The Categories are organized in a framework to support instruction.
Best Practice instruction is divided into three zones:
1) RED: Creating the Environment for Learning
This zone includes: Setting Objectives/Providing Feedback, Reinforcing Effort & Providing Recognition, and Cooperative Learning
2) ORANGE: Helping Students Develop Understanding
This zone includes: Cues/Questions & Advance Organizers, Nonlinguistics, Summarizing & Notetaking, and Assigning Homework & Providing Practice
3) BLUE: Helping Students Extend & Apply Learning
This zone includes: Identifying Similarities & Differences, Generating & Testing Hypotheses
